Being a new school, we are privileged to have a wealth of world-class, brand new facilities. These include science laboratories, gymnasium, cafeteria, IT rooms, Design & Technology areas, hall, dance studio, library, music rooms, food technology rooms, shaded outdoor play, and an outdoor five-a-side/netball pitch. ICT will be widely used to enhance learning and teaching across the curriculum.
From FS1, children will be exposed to a wide range of learning apps using I-Pads and tablet technology, augmented reality (AR) and control technology such as remote control devices and drones.
Our spacious campus is built keeping nature in mind. We believe that providing children with an eco-friendly environment will instill a sense of responsibility towards the world. There are exciting plans in development currently that support this focus. These include initiatives such as having a Turtle Sanctuary/rescue centre under the supervision of a locally based marine biologist in collaboration with the EAD (Environmental Agency Abu Dhabi), Masdar Institute and EWS/WWS (Emirates Wildlife Society/World Wide Fund for Nature), as well as a hydroponics farm where students will be able to cultivate fruit and vegetables and will be encouraged to develop healthy eating habits.
They will gain an understanding that much of what has been grown can be eaten and enjoyed. Such unique, hands-on learning experiences enhance and embed classroom learning. We will create a learning environment in Al Bahya that celebrates our best use of natural resources and how we might grow and develop a sustainable life to enrich our local communities.
The school opened in September 2017 with phase one completion. Phase 2 expansion is planned for the upper senior school in subsequent years.
